Africa’s Role In Slavery

Africa & Slavery; Africa’s Role

Nothing was ever loyal to my people like oppression
Persistent all through suppression
Worked with its twin depression

Reading about my ancestors yields a ping;
Hearing the voice of previous slaves––a pain cling
A feeling inexplicable
Abruptly I discern the imbecile
My struggles today plummet when I hear their tragic
The freedom we know today is something they envisioned
Even when freed died from a lack of need
Birthrights deprived of beginning
Identity was to whom they belonged to
Unable to read, kept in the dark without a clue
Days in the sun, a painful heat
A religious spirit mandates feet
Their division opened doors of defeat
Build an alliance with opposers; to sit in the backseat
By greed monetized their own
Enemies intrigued with dominance robbed their home
Sojourners in their land, an erroneous roam

Aimed to fight for Blacks
Now I defy drawbacks
It was our own who sold us
Black KKK’s driving demise bus
We, the original Jews
A target has always been our dues
Obama, to usher the fool
Won America as a charming tool
In the face of Christianity
He legalized homosexuality
Michael, his trophy actuality
Beguiled America as a wholesome family

Strongholds were accursed
Pride, the reason we dispersed
Let strangers mix our lineage
Laid the carpet for an outrage
Only through unity of maturity,
We can harbor a world advantage.
